Encore Theatre Inc is a non-professional theatre company based in Clayton, Melbourne, dedicated to staging quality live theatre. We encourage you to subscribe to our shows and so receive discounted ticket prices, first choice of seats and Echoes our free newsletter. Details of auditions for each new show are on this web page.

Encore performs in a new, state-of-the-art 133 seat theatre with raked seating, air-conditioned comfort and excellent acoustics. The audience feels they are part of the action on stage.

We offer charities the opportunity to raise funds and have done so for several years.

You're most welcome to join our acting troupe or work on sets, costumes, lighting, Front of House and elsewhere.

Encore Awards 2007

Encore's production of Shadowlands directed by Mark Stratford was a stand out show. David Small played C.S.Lewis and won the Best Actor Award from both the VDL and Lyrebird. Encore received nominations from the Lyrebird Awards for its production of I Remember Mama directed by Ron Conroy. Jonathon Bailey won the Best Junior Actor Award.

Monash Council

Monash Council has built a new community centre opposite the current Encore Theatre site in Cooke Street, Clayton.

This centre includes a BRAND NEW THEATRE in which Encore Theatre stages its productions.

It's a brilliant space with state-of-the-art facilities for players and playgoers alike.
