Our History
In 1997 CORC Theatre Company and Elwood Theatre Company merged to form Encore Theatre Company. The
new company commenced operation in the Clayton Auditorium. ”Caravan” directed by Fran McGrath was the
first official production for Encore Theatre Company. The company has produced a series of wonderful
productions over the years and have developed a strong base of subscribers through the work of Janne
Humphreys. Many people have contributed to the success of Encore Theatre Company over the years. Our
productions have won nominations and awards from The Victorian Drama League and Lyrebirds. In
2008 the Encore Theatre Company moved into the brand new theatre in Cooke Street and our
existing auditorium was demolished.
